Our brand story

Hi, I’m Sharon, founder of The Candlewala.

People often ask “Why call it The Candlewala when you’re a female founder?” Good question! I named it after my brother Hari who I decided should officially be The Candlewala. Hari has cerebral palsy, and while life hasn’t always made things easy for him, he has always shown up with heart and determination.

So I thought I’d start a business and make him employee number one. These days, he’s proudly in charge of packing and dispatching every single candle. Sure, I could have gone with Hari’s Candles, but The Candlewala has a bit more spark, don’t you think?
